Bridgend & District Ramblers Group organise three walks most Sundays, a short (~ 5 miles), medium (~ 8 miles) and a long (~ 12 miles) walk.

Our medium and long Sunday walks meet at Bridgend Recreation Centre Car Park and we are gone by 9:00 for the long walks and 9:30 for the medium walk.

The short walks meet at the start point, contact the leader for details.

We also have a ~ 10 mile walk every other Tuesday. The meeting point for these walks is either Pyle Leisure Centre Car Park or Pencoed Swimming Pool Car Park, depending on the direction of the start point and we leave at 9:00.

For all walk information, please see our Walk Programme page for details.

Our Summer programme also contains short evening walks in the months May - August, on Wednesday evenings, meeting at the start point, leaving at 6:15pm.

We also have a fortnightly easy stroll, typically 3 miles, relatively flat and few if any styles. These take place on alternating Thursdays and meet at the start point, leaving at 10:30am.

We also run Wednesday morning 5 mile walks alternating with the Thursday walks. These walks start at 09:45. Contact the leader for full details of the walks, their phone number is published in the programme.

Our daytime short walks and strolls usually finish about lunchtime and as if by magic near a pub, so we have a 'debrief' over a coffee or pint to continue the social aspect of our activities.

In addition to walks we have an active Footpaths Officer who is a point of contact for any footpath issues in the Bridgend Borough and he liaises regularly with local government officers on possible resolutions.

We run two 'away day' coach trips to farther afield locations which will include a walk and an opportunity to visit the local town.

Some of our long walkers also arrange weekends away to further extend the available walks on our programme.

You’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore.

Dogs are generally welcome on our walks, however, it's advisable to contact the leader before bringing your dog along in case there are issues that make the walk unsuitable for dogs.

As well as our website www.bridgendramblers.org we are on Facebook as Bridgend Ramblers and Twitter as @bridgendrambler.

Happy Rambling.
